I bought one of these to se if they would control my La-Z-Boy recliners that have electric motors to raise and lower the leg rest. Normal X-10 appliance modules would turn on, stay on for a few minutes then turn off on their own. I tried a couple of different X-10 appliance modules and house codes but they all did the same thing, turned off on their own after a few minutes. This unit turns on and stays on until it recieves an off command (I use Insteon commands not X-10). In addition, the relay is very quiet compared to the X-10 appliance modules. you can still hear the relay but it is very soft.

A great addition to the Insteon family and an installer's toolkit. However, the lack of a physical RESET means recovering from an internal lock-up requires removing power from OutletLinc, either via a breaker or reinstallation.

I love the pigtail installation! So much better than screw terminals... much more secure and I don''t have to worry about exposed terminals.
