Essential Info

INSTEON ToggleLinc Relay (Non-Dimming) — The Most Advanced Remote-Controllable On/Off Switch
The INSTEON ToggleLinc Relay (Non-Dimming) allows you to include fluorescent or non-dimmable lights, fans, and other appliances in your INSTEON home control network. The ToggleLinc Relay functions only as an on/off switch. If you need a dimmable switch to control incandescent bulbs, low-voltage halogen (e.g. track), and other low-voltage lights with magnetic or dimmable electronic transformers, use either the ToggleLinc Dimmer, White or ToggleLinc Dimmer, Ivory. An ToggleLinc Relay (Non-Dimming), Ivory is also available.

How many times have you jumped into bed and forgotten to turn the lights off? With the INSTEON ToggleLinc Relay's remote control ability, you can have the convenience of adding a INSTEON remote controller to turn off your lights after you get into bed. Never come home to a dark house again: add INSTEON Hub and schedule any ToggleLinc Relay or any other INSTEON-compatible device to turn on or off at any specific time or even at sunrise and sunset. The ToggleLinc Relay can control a 480-watt incandescent load or 15A resistive load.

    Easy To Install
The INSTEON ToggleLinc Relay is so easy to install and set up and yet so affordable, you'll want to replace all your switches with ToggleLincs. Just remove the old switch, reattach the existing line, load, ground, and neutral wires using the included wire nuts, and you're done. Learn more about INSTEON here.

    Beautiful, High-Quality Construction
Unlike other switches, the INSTEON ToggleLinc Relay offers the natural feel of high-end dimmers. The ToggleLinc is designed and manufactured to high-end specifications and goes through over 10 quality-control tests before arriving at your doorstep. The white status LED indicates the current status of the device being controlled. When the ToggleLinc Relay is turned off, the white LED illuminates to help with finding the switch in the dark. Don't forget to order a matching wall plate.

    Built with a Quieter Relay
Because the ToggleLinc Relay is built with a much quieter relay than most remote-control ON/OFF switches, it has a click that's more than 80 percent quieter than traditional relay switches. This allows you to control lights and other non-dimmable devices remotely without waking up the baby, annoying other family members, or sending your cat fleeing across the room. The click of the ToggleLinc's internal relay is barely audible.

    Generates Less Heat
Unlike triac-based dimmers, INSTEON ToggleLinc Relay uses a hard-contact relay to control the load. Other switches may use a semiconductor that absorbs about two volts of power and dissipates the heat through the front of the switch. By using a relay, the switch runs cooler and full voltage gets to the load.

    Create Multi-Way Circuits
The ToggleLinc Relay allows you to customize your lighting setup no matter how your house is wired, even if the original switches were never wired for multi-way control. It's simple to create a 3-, 4-, or 5-way circuit. First replace all of the existing switches you want to include in the circuit with ToggleLinc Relays. The main relay must be connected to the standard wires: load, line, neutral, and ground. The secondary relays only need to be connected to line, neutral, and ground. No traveler wires are needed, so it is easy to place one of the relays wherever you need it. Cross-linking all of the companion relays to the master relay is the last step in the process. The end result is a flexible, fully functional multi-way circuit.

    Scene Lighting
Scenes allow you to control multiple lights, rooms or even the whole home with a single command. Because the ToggleLinc can be a member of more than 400 scenes (i.e. "Movie Time," "Party," "Romance," etc.), you'll be able to launch various lighting scenarios with a single button press. These are elegant features usually found only in systems costing tens of thousands of dollars and requiring extensive rewiring of your home. The relays can blend seamlessly in a scene with ToggleLinc Dimmers. So one set of lights connected to an INSTEON ToggleLinc Dimmer can slowly dim, while another set connected to the ToggleLinc Relay turns off instantly, all controlled with one command from one button. If you want to control multiple scenes from one controller, upgrade to the INSTEON KeypadLinc Dimmer.

The INSTEON ToggleLinc Relay is fully INSTEON compatible and X10 ready. Homeowners with existing X10 networks can easily migrate to an INSTEON network without having to discard all their existing X10 devices. X10 ready means that it can respond to X10 commands from an X10 controller and it can send X10 commands to X10 devices. Please note that INSTEON devices repeat INSTEON signals but not X10.

    Non-Volatile Memory
All ToggleLinc settings are stored in non-volatile memory and are not lost during power failures.

    Network Reliability
To ensure network reliability, dual-band INSTEON products (such as Access Points) allow RF-only INSTEON devices to send (and receive) commands to (and from) power line-only INSTEON devices as well as repeat the commands to other RF-only devices. While at least one (1) Dual-band INSTEON product is required when using an RF-only INSTEON device, at least two (2) Dual-band INSTEON products are recommended to ensure reliable communication across common two-phase home wiring systems. For larger applications, it is recommended to install at least one dual-band INSTEON product for each 750 - 1,000 Square Feet.

    Certifications and Warranty
All INSTEON ToggleLinc products are safety approved. The factory for SmartLabs Design Products is ISO9001 certified. In order to meet the ISO 9001 standards, the entire factory underwent rigorous inspections of procedures and policies before being certified. The certification received was based on its dedication to high-quality management systems and strict adherence of quality control systems and guidelines. Because of this, Smarthome stands behind the entire INSTEON ToggleLinc line of products with a full 2-year warranty.

I have several of the 2466SI ivory switches that are working great. Unfortunately, you can't get the ivory color anymore. This seems like such a simple thing for Smarthome to fix. Really disappointing to learn that they have discontinued the product. I have ivory switches throughout my home and I don't care to change to the 2477S white decora switches and buy a color conversion kit to get ivory. I would end up paying a 10% penalty to change the color from white to ivory and have to consider replacing my existing non-decora ivory Insteon switches. I would give this product 5 stars if they had kept ivory as a product. The Insteon products work as advertised. I just wish they would have kept ivory as an option without the extra cost or confusion.

I have bought 2 of these to use in my x10 system. The switches work fine in manual mode to control a fluorescent light system. When I try to use my x10 remote controller HR12A through a cm15A x10 receiver module it will turn on the the switch but will not turn off the light. I get the same behavior with both switches. Tech support at Insteon were of little help and suggested to return the switches. That is nice but does not solve my problem.
Smarthome response: We are sorry to hear about the difficulty in turning off the light. We've seen this issue before and when troubleshooting deeper have discovered that the lights (when on) put out noise onto the powerline which X10 cannot get through. For these situations an inline noise filter (between load and switch) will help.

I've bought over dozen of these switches for my home now and they are very reliable. (Never had one fail) My only complaint (and thus the reason for 4 stars) is that Smarthome has now chosen to discontinue all colors other than white. My home uses ivory wallplates and the white toggle looks a bit strange.

I Dont Like The Switch As You Have To Hold In Place For A Second Or Two To Get Your Desired On/Off Reaction. If Used In A Two Or Three Switched Light Application You Need To Buy One For Each Switch Location. The Night light Is Awesome And Easy To Find In The Dark.
    GARY -- chelan, WA   4/1/2014
These products perform very well as advertised and were easy to install with the very good directions included.
JAMES -- mount joy, PA   3/9/2014
it works, customer support is bad
JOE -- castro valley, CA   2/16/2014
for me the toggle was the better choice the non dimming works best in my application
    RONALD -- woodbury, MN   2/8/2014
Only problem I had was the linking of the Togglelinc to the OutletLinc Dimmer. Took a few attempts to make the link, but once done - it's worked fine.
    Lenny -- New York   1/28/2014
I have a bunch of these switches in my network for lights I just want to be either on or off no dimming needed. I have single, double and triple switches. Installing these is easy, you just need to be very neat and clean with how you push your wires back into the box so you have enough room for the switch itself which is a little bulky. Configuring the double and multiple switches was a snap. All I had to do was use the one that actually fed the light as a responder, and I added the others as a controller using only the linking procedures in the quick start guide. Once that was done all I needed to do was to link the responder to the Hub/app and I can also now control the light from my iPad/iPhone. No need to create a scene just for multiple switches controlling one light. Very easy.

worked as advertised and exactly what I needed.
HENRY -- villa park, CA   1/25/2014
    Great experience
    MARY -- wimberley, TX   1/20/2014
Switches work great. Fast service! Thanks
    WILLIAM -- lakeville, MN   1/19/2014
Slowly replacing older x10 hardware. This does not respond to ALL LIGHTS ON command. Highly annoyed.
STAN -- dillon beach, CA   1/17/2014
We added a new over the counter light fixture and had no easy place to put a switch. Insteon switches provided the perfect solution. Using Insteon we can now control all the lighting in our kitchen from one convenient place. The wiring in the walls did not have to be changed. I've done business with Smarthome for many years and they always stand by their products and provide excellent customer service.
    VLADIMIR -- clearwater, FL   1/16/2014
Switch arrived very quick and easy to install. Set up with Insteon Hub took 30 seconds. Looking to order another one - this time will be a dimming one.
MIKEL -- fort collins, CO   1/16/2014
These work great when they work. The one I received did not work. Good luck trying to get ahold of tech support on the phone. Finally got ahold of someone after two days of being on hold for an hour or more.
    Jeremy R -- seattle, WA   1/16/2014
Purchased a number of these for use around our home. When they work it is nice. The problem is that they occasionally lock up and stop responding. You need to pop the little switch at the bottom of the light to get it start working again, or cut power at the breaker. It turns out that INSTEON products can be confused by stray electrical noise and then stop responding. In our case, turning on or off bathroom fans or using the vacuum occasionally cause INSTEON lights to turn off and sometimes lock up. Installing a device called a snubber on the bathroom fan circuits helped greatly, but not completely. Things work 95% of the time, but my wife has curtailed any more. Our house was built in 2006 and has a very modern electrical system. I hope to try some of the micro behind the switch products instead of these, but those scare me because the only way to reset them would be cycle the breaker!
