Item was returned as it only controls one outlet and is not able to control multiple devices. I purchased another programmable timer.

This timer is similar to one of those well-known mechanical timer in the sense that it can control only a single INSTEON device with multiple on-off cycles. An appliance can be plugged in directly, in which case a mechanical timer would probably be cheaper, but at the same time the device sends an INSTEON signal to control an external INSTEON device linked to the TimerLinc.

When I purhased the unit, I was not aware that it could only time one event. I seemed to work as advertised, but it would be a more useful device if it had the capability to provide multiple simultaneous event control to multiple zones.

This timer will only time one or more devices which must be set to the same on and off times. It cannot turn different devices on and off at different times.

The timer is tedious to program, but it works most of the time. About once every 2 weeks, it decides to skip an "on" cycle. My experience with Smarthome "customer service" tells me it is seriously misnamed.

I'm using as a timer to turn off an item after I manually turn it on. The directions are somewhat confusing and it took me a few tries to figure out how to make it work.

The product works great. Wished they made a version that offered more options like what was available for X10 timers.

your technical support has been most cooperative in trying to resolve a problem with the timer-linc randomly shutting down making the system inoperable. we've replaced the component twice, to no avail, & am now ordering a filter to cut down extraneous noise in the circuit.

Easy to use...I love the security feature for changing the on-off times each day.
