Fill your entire home with personalized mood lighting for any occasion. The INSTEON ApplianceLinc (3-Pin) is a full-featured plug-in on/off switch that can be remotely controlled by a INSTEON ControLinc Tabletop Controller, INSTEON KeypadLinc Dimmer, or any other INSTEON-compatible controller. This simple-to-use plug-in on/off switch has advanced features like local control, so you can still use the appliance's built-in switch to turn device on and off. The ApplianceLinc is made to plug into a 3-pin outlet. This on/off module controls all standard appliances like fans, fluorescent lights, and many other non-dimmable devices up to 15 amps and incandescent lights up to 480 watts. If you need to control a dimmable lamp, consider using the LampLinc - INSTEON Plug-In Lamp Dimmer Module, 3-Pin or the LampLinc - INSTEON Plug-In Lamp Dimmer Module (Dual-Band), 2-Pin; each allow on/off and brightness control, while the Dual-Band model has the added benefit of acting as an Access Point.

If you need INSTEON control for outdoor plug-in appliances such as fountain pumps and landscape or holiday lighting, consider using an ApplianceLinc - INSTEON Outdoor Plug-In On / Off Appliance Module, sold separately.

    Easy To Install
    The INSTEON ApplianceLinc (3-Pin) is easy to install and set up and yet so affordable, you'll want to add ApplianceLinc on/off modules to all of your appliances that you want to INSTEON ApplianceLinc (3-Pin), and then plug the module back into the wall outlet. Link the ApplianceLinc to an INSTEON controller using the Plug & Tap programming method, and you'll be able to turn the appliance on and off from any linked INSTEON-compatible controller.

    Pass-Through Outlet
    In addition to the INSTEON-controlled outlet, the ApplianceLinc offers a non-controlled outlet on the front face, so you won't have to unplug your appliance module just to find a place to plug in the vacuum cleaner.

    Create Multi-Way Circuits
    The INSTEON ApplianceLinc (3-Pin) allows you to customize your lighting setup no matter how your house is wired. It's simple to create a 3-, 4-, or 5-way controlled appliances. Plug the device you want to include in the circuit into the module, then plug the ApplianceLinc into an open outlet. Link the ApplianceLinc to all the INSTEON-compatible wall switches and tabletop controllers that you want to control the ApplianceLinc for a flexible, fully functional multi-way controlled appliance.

    Scene Lighting
    Scenes allow you to control multiple lights, rooms or even the whole home with a single command. Because the ApplianceLinc can be a member of more than 400 scenes (i.e. "Movie Time," "Party," "Romance," etc.), you'll be able to launch various lighting scenarios with a single button press on an INSTEON controller. These are elegant features usually found only in systems costing tens of thousands of dollars and requiring extensive rewiring of your home. All member lights and appliances can turn on or off instantly, all controlled with one command from one button. If you want to control multiple scenes from one controller, try the INSTEON KeypadLinc Dimmer.

    Status LED
    Get a visual indication when ApplianceLinc is sending or receiving INSTEON or X10 signals. The Status LED is also used for setup programming.

    Compatibility
    The INSTEON ApplianceLinc (3-Pin) is fully INSTEON compatible and X10 ready. Homeowners with existing X10 networks can easily migrate to an INSTEON network without having to discard all their existing X10 devices. X10 ready means that the module can respond to X10 commands from an X10 controller. Please note that INSTEON devices repeat INSTEON signals but not X10.

    Non-Volatile Memory
    All ApplianceLinc settings are stored in non-volatile memory and are not lost during power failures. Additionally, in the event of a power loss, the ApplianceLinc will return the appliance to its off state when power is restored.

    Used to X-10 appliance modules? Get ready for a treat. This module switches almost silently! Sure, insteon costs more, but the robust protocol makes insteon a solid value. I had a fairly large X-10 installation that I never could get to work reliably. Now that I have replaced all my X-10 with insteon, reliability is taken for granted. I even managed to reliably link all 3 building on my property (all with separate electrical services!) for the first time. Insteon rocks!

    Have bought several of these devices from various sources, including SmartHome. Most have been working fine for the past month or so. Tried the "SmartLinc - INSTEON Central Controller" at first, found it way too limited in; logging for troubleshooting, multi-scene ease, some more advanced capabilities, etc. (2) of the units purchased have simply stopped functioning, but fortunately Sellers refunded us - citing "it just happens", which I deem discouraging moving forward since it may be a rather common event - hence (4) Star rating at this time. In any event, ratings/comments are based on experiences thus far....the future of these units remains to be seen. If you can afford it, I suggest the ISY-99 as a controller, although quite pricey, it greatly out performs the 2412n, but not without some headaches we've endured during the setup.
