INSTEON LampLinc Dimmer (2-Pin) — Our Most Advanced Remote-Controllable Plug-In DimmerFill your entire home with personalized mood lighting for any occasion. The INSTEON LampLinc Dimmer (2-Pin) is a full-featured plug-in lamp dimmer that can be remotely controlled by a ControLinc tabletop controller, KeypadLinc, or any other INSTEON controller. This simple-to-use plug-in dimmer has advanced features like an adjustable ramp rate that slowly brings the lamp on, a preset dim level that stores your preferred choice of 32 brightness levels when turning the lamp on initially, as well as local control, so you can still use the lamp's built-in switch to turn the light on and off. The LampLinc 2-Pin is made to be plugged into a 2-pin ungrounded outlet. If the ground is necessary and your outlets have three pins, try the INSTEON LampLinc Dimmer 3-Pin instead. This dimmer module can control incandescent bulbs, low-voltage halogen (e.g. track), and other low-voltage lights with magnetic or dimmable electronic transformers. If you need to control a fluorescent light fixture or a non-dimmable appliance, try the INSTEON ApplianceLinc (3-Pin). Easy To InstallThe LampLinc is easy to plug-in and set up and yet so affordable, you'll want to add LampLinc dimmers to all of your lamps. Just unplug the lamp, plug the lamp into the bottom outlet of the dimmer, and plug in the dimmer where the lamp was plugged in. Link the dimmer to an INSTEON controller using the Plug & Tap programming method, and you'll be able to turn the lamp on and off, brighten and dim. If this is your first INSTEON installation, the best way to ensure you get everything needed to provide the most reliable communication among devices is to buy the complete INSTEON Lamp Scene Lighting Starter Kit, which includes everything required to set up your INSTEON network, including two 3-Pin LampLinc Dimmers, a pair of INSTEON Access Points (& Wireless Phase Couplers) to ensure INSTEON network reliability, and the INSTEON ControLinc Tabletop Controller. Brightness LevelsYou can adjust the brightness level of the controlled lamp by pressing and holding the on or off button of the INSTEON controller. This is especially helpful when you want to create a theatrical experience when watching your favorite movie. You can also adjust the brightness remotely by sending signals from the controller to brighten or dim the light. You won't even have to leave the comfort of your chaise lounge to dim the light: Your tabletop ControLinc can be placed within arm's reach and plugged into any outlet. When you turn on the LampLinc dimmer, it automatically comes on to full brightness. Setting the preset on level will make the dimmer stop at your preferred choice of 32 brightness levels. With software you can control brightness levels in 1percent increments for ultimate flexibility. This is a great feature for your bedroom to set the mood.
Adjustable Ramp RateAdjust the speed at which the controlled light turns on or off, also known as the ramp rate. For example, you may want the lamp in the kids' room to turn on instantly so you can see where you're walking. Alternatively, you may want the lamp in the master dining room to ramp up in a soft, gentle fashion so that you're not blinded when you wake up in the morning. The ramp rate is adjustable between 0.1 seconds and 9 seconds if programmed locally. The ramp rate can extend up to 9 minutes (for a simulated sunrise or sunset) if programmed remotely. This is a great addition to your morning alarm, slowly turning the light on to help you wake up. If you have programmed a slow ramp rate and want to make the lamp come on instantly, simply double tap the controller's on button. To turn the light off quickly, double tap the controller's off button.
Pass-Through OutletIn addition to the INSTEON-controlled outlet, LampLinc offers a non-controlled outlet on the front face, so you won't have to unplug your lamp module just to find a place to plug in the vacuum cleaner.
Status LEDGet a visual indication when your LampLinc is sending or receiving INSTEON or X10 signals. The Status LED is also used for setup programming.
Create Multi-Way CircuitsThe LampLinc Dimmer allows you to customize your lighting setup no matter how your house is wired. It's simple to create a 3-, 4-, or 5-way controlled lamp. First plug the lamp you want to include in the circuit into the dimmer, then plug the LampLinc into an open outlet. Link the dimmer to all the INSTEON-compatible wall switches and INSTEON ControLinc Tabletop Controllers that you want to control the dimmer for a flexible, fully functional multi-way controlled lamp.
Scene Lighting Scenes allow you to control multiple lights, rooms or even the whole home with a single command. Because the LampLinc can be a member of more than 400 scenes (i.e. "Movie Time," "Party," "Romance," etc.), you'll be able to launch various lighting scenarios with a single button press on an INSTEON controller. These are elegant features usually found only in systems costing tens of thousands of dollars and requiring extensive rewiring of your home. All member lights can ramp to your independently desired brightness levels at your chosen ramp rate(s), so one set of lights can dim slowly while another set turns off instantly, all controlled with one command from one button. CompatibilityThe LampLinc Dimmer is fully INSTEON compatible and X10 ready. Homeowners with existing X10 networks can easily migrate to an INSTEON network without having to discard all their existing X10 devices. X10 ready means that it can respond to X10 commands from an X10 controller. Please note that INSTEON devices repeat INSTEON signals but not X10.
Non-Volatile MemoryAll LampLinc Dimmer settings are stored in non-volatile memory and are not lost during power failures. Additionally, in the event of a power loss, the LampLinc Dimmer's lamp will return to its last brightness level when power is restored.
