The INSTEON USB Stick for TouchLinc is specifically designed for use with the TouchLinc running the new TouchLinc app which allows it to control lights, appliances, heating/air conditioning and other devices directly via the INSTEON network. If you use TouchLinc with SmartLinc but would like to upgrade to the TouchLinc app you will need this USB Stick and HouseLinc - INSTEON Desktop Software with USB Interface (Dual-Band). Here's an example of TouchLinc with TouchLinc app and USB stick:
This single-band interface sends and receives radio frequency (RF) INSTEON signals. If you are trying to control power line only devices you must have at least one Access Point or dual-band INSTEON product for communication. For best INSTEON network performance, be sure you have properly installed at least two dual-band INSTEON products.
For a clean interface with TouchLinc, a Wrap-Around USB Adapter for TouchLinc is included so the USB stick will be on the back side of the Touchscreen.
