Required Accessories
  • USB Charging Cable is required to charge RemoteLinc 2. With the cable you can charge RemoteLinc 2 by plugging the cable into a computer USB port or into a USB power adapter.
  • If the INSTEON device you intend to control does not receive RF signals (i.e., power line only), you will need at least one dual-band INSTEON device to convert the RF signals to power line signals.

    How it Works
    Each key is divided into two scene controls (left hand side is one scene, right hand side is another). Tapping the scene controller toggles between ON and OFF. Pressing and holding the scene controller will send BRIGHT or DIM commands depending upon the previous command (e.g., Last command ON, press and hold DIM. Last command OFF, press and hold BRIGHT). The LED status indicator blinks green for ON commands and red for OFF commands. The LED indicator will also let you know if a device did not acknowledge the command.

    RemoteLincs 2 are very handy little gadgets. They make it a snap to install switches in otherwise impossible places (e.g. brick walls with no electrical wiring). They're also great to keep at bedside, or next to the sofa. Keep in mind, they are RF only. You'll need an access point, or dual-band device fairly close by to get the benefit of the RemoteLinc. Also, they do not always respond instantly as the wired devices. Takes some getting used to...

    Have been waiting for this for years! --A compact version of that huge #2440 handheld. OVERALL: VERY DISAPPOINTED. THE GOOD: You can switch it off, if its in your pocket. EXCELLENT! With the 2440 you have to remove a battery to disable it. THE BAD -2 problems: 1. VERY restricted range. WHY ??? The big #2440 has great range. 2. Goofy, inconsistent operation, even when very near its slaved "target" light switch. We usually have to hit it at least twice to get the switch to respond. THE UGLY: Very cheap construction. Seems very flimsy.. for a rather hefty price. HMMM. Are we getting a bit too greedy, Mr. Smarthome?

    key pad works wonderful .I can be in car at front of drive 50 feet from house and turn porch light on.this activates 6 lights around porch,lighting up entire yard.Wife is very pleased ,she can now see where shes walking

    works great in area where you don't have a wired in switch. If you are turning on a light in a dark room you need to add something to the on paddle of the switch you want so you can find it in the dark.

    Love this device. Smaller than expected, which is a plus. It is directly linked to control all interior lighting, exterior lighting, and things such as the pool cover pump, and also controlling routines through the PC. USB recharging is a great idea.

    LOVE it! Allows me to control the basement stairs light where the only switch was located at the bottom of the stairs. Have waited for a wireless option for quite sometime and am thrilled to see it in a multi-switch version.

    So far so good. I wish there was a better way to lable the keypads. The ability to add self-printed inserts would be great. It's hard to remember what buttons go to what. It works fine and is much smaller and easier to operate than the RemoteLinc 1. I haven't checked to see if the battery is replaceable after its hit it's limit on recharge cycles.
