This is good in concept but appears to be incompatible with my Rheem gas furnace. It would slip in and out of Energy saver mode and would also switch modes (heat/cool/auto), all on its own. This was manual use only, not Insteon programmed. Didn't get that far. Ended up going with Venstar T1800 and the Insteon adapter which works great.

I have one already that works great so I went to buy another for a second system I have and it wouldn't work. This thermostat does NOT support split-transformers (e.g. one transformer for Heat and a second transformer for A/C). Disappointing since this configuration is pretty common. Adding one more connection to accept Rc or Rh would have made this thermostat much more versatile.

I haven't installed this device yet, so I cannot give it a complete review, but the build quality seems very good, and I like the look and feel of it.

Price-a bit high compared to todays selections. Installation-Complicated. I was unable to swap out my old programmable unit readily with this unit. The terminal labels did not match the old one and there was no translation table. When I installed my programmable unit for the standard unit it was a breeze because it used the same labels for each terminal. I believe they could have included a table that would address this issue. I still have not figured out how to manually operate the fan (it comes on when heating or cooling but not when I manually try to operate it) Use-The interface is not any more confusing than any other programmable controller. The thing that I am most disappointed in and the reason I didn't give it one more star is that you cannot (at least I couldn't tell How to do it) set up the schedule using the remote access Insteon Android app. So rather than having some sort of an easy interface, you are forced to program the schedule through the cumbersome mode/selection/arrow up/arrow down, sequences. It would have been nice if they had included that in the smartphone app. Operation-I was surprised to see that I could not change the hysteresis of the unit. You are stuck with a two degree band. That means that if you want it to be 72 degrees in your home, you may get 71 or even 70 then back up to 72 or more. Makes for quite a variance in my humble opinion.

The good thing is that I can control it from anywhere home or not. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the temperature in the house feels a lot colder then what is displayed on screen. I have to jack up the temperature.

The installation company has not been able to locate a installer for our area in Wisconsin as a result my rating as of this moment would be very poor!!

Works great but really needs to have a ettable offset. It tries to maintain an exact temperature which causes a lot of cycling of the hvac unit to keep up
