With SmartLinc you can now read power consumption of any plug-in device on your smartphone, computer or any web-enabled computer.
- Start/Stop Dimming
Select between incremental or start/stop dimming and brightening of lights. By enabling start/stop dimming, SmartLinc sends out a continuous Bright or Dim command when first pressed. Press a second time to stop when the lights get to a desired level.
- Advanced Custom Control
Power users rejoice. Now you can get down to the command code and modify commands. Some of the things you can do include at the device or scene level:
- Copy a scene from one room to another room
- Change Group ON to Group Fast On
- Create an All On or All Off for all devices linked to SmartLinc without having to re-link devices
- Incorporate X10 devices
- Create On Off macros with delay

Ideal At-Home Control
SmartLinc works in combination with your router and most mobile Wi-Fi or web-enabled devices to control INSTEON devices within your home. Setup only requires a few easy steps to identify your network IP address and then type it into your PC or mobile device. After setup has been completed, you can start linking INSTEON lights and appliances and creating scenes that will make home life more convenient and energy efficient.
Requirements:
- Wi-Fi enabled phone or PDA
- Wi-Fi router
- PC connected to router
Note: The Linksys Router Model WRT610N Version 1 has been found to be incompatible with the Smartlinc. The more recent version WRT610N Version 2 is compatible with the SmartLinc.
Away from Home Control
In much the same way as the At-Home setup works, while you are away from home you can access your INSTEON network using SmartLinc in conjunction with any internet connection or Wi-Fi hotspot. Simply identify your home’s IP address and type it into your mobile device, then you can turn devices on or off at anytime, from anywhere, with the same reliability as you would have at home.
Requirements:
- Broadband internet connection (at home)
- Web-enabled phone, PDA or PC
- Router with port forwarding configured
Timers
Whether you are at-home or away from home, scheduling timers for devices on your INSTEON network is a valuable way to not only make your life easier but to manage the amount of energy consumption that is taking place. Timers can be set up from your PC or mobile device for one On time and one Off time for every scene in SmartLinc.
Pre-Organized, User-Defined Rooms
SmartLinc - INSTEON Central Controller takes remote access of your INSTEON home automation network a step further. It gives you the ability to apply unique names and labels for devices and scenes and then further organize those into rooms. By assigning your own naming convention, you define the simplicity of navigating your own network.
View Power Consumption
Get instant access to power consumption (wattage) of a device from any smartphone or web-enabled computer using SmartLinc and an iMeter Solo. If you already own SmartLinc and would like to view the power consumption of the iMeter, simply update your .bin file. SmartLinc currently supports viewing the wattage of one iMeter.
NOTE: By default, SmartLinc allows you to populate up to 15 rooms. If using the SmartLinc .bin file with iMeter Solo support, SmartLinc will only support population of up to 14 rooms. If you are currently using room 15, please be sure to move those devices/scenes to another room before you update your .bin file.
IP Camera Support
SmartLinc - INSTEON Central Controller enables you access a network surveillance camera so that you can watch your home while you control it, all from a web-enabled device. Turn on your interior lights or your yard lights; and from the same screen watch it happen. This amazing feature has been tested with several Panasonic IP Cameras, sold separately, and consider it to be a valuable tool that integrates your home automation and security into one.
iPhone and iPod touch Control
If you already have an iPhone or iPod touch and a Wi-Fi router, SmartLinc is all you need to start controlling all of your INSTEON devices. Simply access the SmartLinc web application via your devices browser and add devices, create lighting scenes and timer events, all from the palm of your hand.

Don't Block your Outlets
SmartLinc - INSTEON Central Controller includes Smarthome's innovative pass-through AC outlet on the front of the unit. This outlet allows you to plug in additional AC devices without affecting the SmartLinc. While the outlet doesn't have any control features, it really helps against "power strip buildup."

Non-Volatile Memory & Battery Backup
