IRLinc - INSTEON IR Transmitter allows you to turn any KeypadLinc, RemoteLinc, ControLinc or SmartLinc into a remote that will integrate INSTEON controlled lights and devices with your whole-home music system, home theater, or even your IR-controllable blinds or drapes. Using an
INSTEON controller such as
KeypadLinc, you can set up buttons for play, stop, volume up, volume down, previous track, next track, change source and power to control your whole-home music system. Or, while hosting a dinner party, set your dinner lighting scene and turn on music from your dining-room using
RemoteLinc, all without excusing yourself from the table. By running one of IRLinc's emitters to an IR-controllable
automated drape controller you can use
ControLinc to close the drapes and remove the glare while watching a movie, open and close a home theater curtain or schedule your bedroom blinds to open in the morning. You can even pull out your iPhone or iPod Touch and have hand-held touch screen control of your INSTEON and A/V equipment, ensuring that everything is turned off, all while you are at work or on vacation; requires
SmartLinc, sold separately. Using your INSTEON network to control IR equipment around the house opens up a new world of home control possibilities.
IR Macro SupportIRLinc Transmitter supports IR macros, allowing several IR commands to be programmed to a single INSTEON controller button. Have your TV and tuner turn on, select the cable box as your source and turn on your lights from the touch of a button. Need a delay between turning on the TV and selecting the cable box as a source? Grab a remote from another room or unused remote and program a "dummy" IR code between the "TV Power" and TV source selection commands. IR macros are also great for programming several-digit television channels to an INSTEON controller button.
Independent On/Off ButtonsIRLinc Transmitter features the ability to program independent IR commands or macros to each the On and the Off on any INSTEON controller. Make your RemoteLinc even more intuitive by programming the "Volume Up" IR command to the 1st On button and "Volume Down" IR command to the 1st Off button. Also, take advantage of macros by programming your two favorite television channels to the 2nd On/Off button pair. For example, you can program your RemoteLinc's 2nd On button to change to the Discovery channel, while the 2nd Off button changes the channel to ESPN.
Note: Due to the advanced nature of this product, HouseLinc 2 does not yet support IRLinc Transmitter; however, HouseLinc 2 support is planned to be released in future updates. Once support for IRLinc Transmitter is added to HouseLinc 2, all previously-programmed links and IR commands/macros will
not need to be reconfigured.
