Essential Info

One of the nicest features on the INSTEON SwitchLinc Dimmer and Relay (Non-Dimming) units is their line of LED lights. This elegant brightness bar consists of 8 white LEDs that indicate the current brightness of the lights being controlled on the dimmer switch. Change the appearance of up to eight switches in your home with the SwitchLinc Light Pipe Kit, a set of pipes that easily install in the SwitchLinc to change the LEDs to red, green, amber, or blue. A pair of each color is included in this kit; select your favorites to personalize your SwitchLincs.

    Regardless of the color you select, the bright LEDs can be exceptionally helpful when it is difficult to see the light being controlled (e.g. outside or behind closed doors). The SwitchLinc Dimmers and Relays also offer a status LED; two status LED pipes of each color are also included in this kit so that all LEDs on the switch will match. Eight-packs are also available in single colors: Choose blue, red, or frosted white. Please note that these light pipes are compatible only with INSTEON SwitchLinc line products.

    A white paddle is included with the INSTEON SwitchLinc Dimmer and Relay, but additional paddle colors are also available and sold separately. Choose the color that best suits your room's decor: Almond, Ivory, Brown, Black, or Gray. Two paddles are included in each set.

    As others have said a little overpriced for what you get, but I wanted red LED's. install was easy although I felt like I was going to break something doing it. Looks o.k. a little white light still leaks out of the single pipe, kind of annoying but I can live with it. Not sure that I will change the color on any others, I'll wait and see.

    Works fine, would be better to have the option to have many of the same color so you could make a row of switches look the same.

    WOULD PREFER THESE WERE SOLD IN ALL ONE COLOR. SINCE i CHOSE GREEN AS MY COLOR i ONLY USE GREEN ON MY DEVICES. RED BLUE AND YELLOW ONES i JUST HAVE TO THROW OUT AS i DO NOT NEED THEM. i PREFERRED WHEN YOU COULD PURCHASE ALL ONE COLOR IN A KIT.

    Why are these sold in packs of multi color. I want Green not blue, not yellow, not red. Is someone just trying to make a reason to sell more of these than a person needs. I keep tossing out the other colors. Come on guys. I see others have the same problem here. Smarthome get with the program. Marking at its best. Very unhappy that I have to spend $6.00 to get 2 pcs worth possibly .25 cents after spending $45.00 on the switch.

    I would much prefer if these were sold as kits of four sets of a single color. For inexpensive plastic bits they are rather expensive. In addition, for many users, the actual price is $6.49 to do only one switch. My WAF wife acceptance factor for multicolor switches or sets of switches visible from the same place is zero.

    White light sneaks out from the sides of the colored light pipes. Only available in multicolor set so your house has to look tootie fruity or you have to buy lots of sets. They discontinued the all-blue set

    Changing out the standard color and installing the new color of choice was a snap. Also, the bottom, "Off" indicator is separate from the other segments of the LED status bar, so one could use a different color for the "Off" indicator.

    I just needed the amber had but had to buy all four colors. They don't really cover the white LED perfectly but it's the best you can do. The old smarthome top of the line X10 dimmers that I am replacing looked classier. They had multiple green LEDs all along the left side of the paddle.

    Without these, the white LEDs on SwitchLinc are very bright. These are easy to install to customize the look. As I've reviewed in the past, Smarthome really ought to include these in the box with the Switchlinc, given how cheap the plastic bits are to make vs. the very high price of the Swtichlinc itself.
