The ZPCI-P30A, Universal Inverting Phase Coupler, uses the latest innovative coupling technology to reliably increase strength for inverted signals. This Universal phase coupler by Simply Automated, passes UPB, X10, and other higher frequency signals while avoiding the issues of conventional phase couplers. Besides eliminating the need for split phase repeaters, these couplers avoid the attenuation of signals created by additional capacitance, while also avoiding the cancelation of inverted signals by non-inverted signals. Because of this, multiple units can be installed in the same home without negatively effecting signal reliability. Conveniently installs in any 30 Amp, 220VAC, 3-prong receptacle. These are typically found near a clothes dryer, air conditioner, or stove.
Phase couplers perform a very specific function for the powerline signals traveling across the two, 120VAC electrical phases in the typical 240VAC home. The typical 240VAC home is a split phase system. This means you have two electrical phases (A and B), which each carry 120VAC. To avoid having canceled signals and low signal strengths on the inverted line, install this universal phase coupler. Not only does the ZPCI-P50A allow powerline signals to pass from one phase (phase A), to the second phase (phase B), it also increases the signals strength as it is inverted.

Powerline signals used in UPB and X10 systems may have trouble reaching the intended device depending on which electrical phase is powering each device. Use this Universal Phase Coupler to increase your UPB and X10 signal strength, while insuring those signals travel across both 120VAC electrical phases in your 240VAC split phase system. To insure maximum signal strength it is recommended that one of these units be installed for every breaker panel in the home, including sub-panels. If you do not have 30 Amp, 220VAC, 3 prong receptacles available for every breaker panel in the home, Simply Automated makes a variety of phase couplers featuring this same technology. These other models should allow you to fit the appropriate phase coupler in any situation.
