If you've considered installing a Universal Powerline Bus (UPB) network in your home but have resisted because you aren't sure which style switches and dimmers you want in each room, the ideal solution has arrived. The SimplyBrilliant™ Single UPB Dimmer Switch provides ultra-reliable control of new and existing lighting fixtures, lamps, fans and other electrical devices using your existing wiring to control virtually any light in your home. Best of all, all faceplates are interchangeable in the field without ever having to untwist a wire nut, so once this switch is installed, you'll easily be able to replace the faceplate in seconds with a double full-height, double half-height, triple, or quad rocker or even a four- or eight-button faceplate (sold separately). A Decora-style wall plate is sold separately.

The Single UPB Dimmer Switch controls a load of up to 900 watts. Using true rocker action for both on/off and dimming capabilities, this dimmer is capable of communicating with UPB plug-in modules and/or other UPB devices (sold separately) to control virtually anything that can be connected to existing wiring anywhere in the home. With 200 dimming steps as well as a resume dim feature, the Single UPB Dimmer Switch can provide attractive lighting ambience as well as the flexibility you deserve. It is not recommended that this switch be used with non-dimmable lighting or with appliances.
UPB technology delivers exceptional reliability and noise immunity at a much lower installed cost when compared to hardwired and RF solutions, and you'll experience no interference from adjacent homes. UPB technology is not X10 compatible.
Add a companion switch for inexpensive three-way control. This dedicated remote switch is sold separately. With the free, downloadable UpStart software and a UPB Interface Module (sold separately), you can use your computer to configure and/or control UPB devices. If you're just getting started with automating your lights and appliances, a UPB starter kit is available and sold separately.
The Single UPB Dimmer Switch has a thinner depth profile (only 1.2") for easy installation. Additional features include its patent-pending contoured heat sink, which delivers cooler operation.
