    The Out-of-Sight PowerJack installs in a standard wall box and is the same size as standard wall-mounted phone jacks. All unsightly wires tuck neatly behind the phone for a streamlined look. It features user-adjustable voltage settings, accommodating cordless phones (ranging from 7 to 12V DC) and comes with six universal plug adapters. It is perfect in new or newly remodeled construction and can be retrofitted to existing installations.

    Regulated output voltage keeps the output voltage stable at any point along the input voltage range (96 to135V AC). It also features high-efficiency and low stand-by mode power dissipation. The typical steady state (with load) power consumption is 8.5 @ 74% efficiency. Typical standby mode (no load) power dissipation is 0.12W. Over-current, over-temperature and short-circuit protection provide safety and reliability.

    Includes six universal adapters for operation with most cordless phones.

    Works as described. Keeps the counter clear of extra wires and plugs. Easy installation, directions are very clear. Would purchase again any time.

    Good idea that falls down on execution. Third and fourth OOS jacks (warranty replacements for the first two, which had defective power supplies) had defective telephone jacks (faulty assembly). I repaired the fourth jack and it seem to be working OK. It is very important that low voltage surge suppression (DiTek DTK-2-LVLP-RUV, for example) be installed "in front" of this device. If you have DSL, it is best to install the splitter "in front" as well. A wall-mount POTS/DSL splitter does not make a neat installation, which, after all, is why this device is installed in the first place.

    This is a great product - it gives my kitchen wall a streamlined look instead of having cords hanging all over. This would be easy enough for a competent do-it-yourselfer to install, but I had a contractor in the house for other work and he had an angle drill to drill through a stud in the wall between the phone jack and the electric outlet, so I had it installed. I you are lucky, the phone and electric will be in the same wall cavity.

    The Panasonic phone I purchased cost $55 while the out-of-sight powerjack cost $30 (after shipping and taxes). Also, as I have no understanding but absolute fear of electricity, I had an electrician friend install it for me - which he said went very well. In the end, the phone looks very nice on the wall sans an ungly cord hanging out and Ive told a number of friends about the powerjack so they too can do the same thing. A great idea!

    I have had this for my cordless phone for many years. I just hoked it up to my AT&T phone that uses 6 volts and it seems to be work just fine.

    My new cordless and most new ones now requires 6.0V. The company AT&T says these power plates could destroy the phone, and don't recommend using it. After calling Levitron, they say they don't intend to offer one that outputs just up to 6V. What a stupid business decision! And I have to now deal with the ugly AC adapter, and long cord running over my counter to plug it in.

    I'VE HAD THIS PRODUCT INSTALLED FOR SEVERAL YEARS WITH A PHONE THAT OPERATES ON 9V DC. THE PHONE BROKE AND I WAS UNABLE TO FIND A NEW CORDLESS PHONE THAT OPERATES ON 7-12V DC. I BOUGHT A 6V DC AT&T PHONE. I CALLED BOTH AT&T AND LEVITON AND THEY BOTH SAID THE 6V PHONE WONT WORK WITH THE POWERJACK. ALL AT&T CORDLESS PHONES OPERATE ON 6V DC. DESPERATE, I JUST INSTALLED THE 6V DC AT&T PHONE ON THE POWER JACK AND IT APPEARS TO BE WORKING FINE. I HOPE IT WILL CONTINUE TO OPERATE. TIME WILL TELL.

    Excellent product. It installed as advertised, and works great so far. Fortunately, we were able to set up for the install during a kitchen remodel with the drywall removed. Otherwise, getting power safely and properly to a phone jack location, or a phone line to a power jack at the correct height for a wall mounted phone would be very difficult at best.
