Essential Info

Automating 220V lights, spa heaters, pool pumps, air conditioners, and other 220V appliances is a snap with this double-pole wall switch. Once installed, (it takes about 5 minutes), you can control connected devices locally at the switch, or remotely activate them from any X10 transmitter. Wire this switch between the two hot wires from the circuit breaker box and the 220-volt load. If used outdoors, mount it in a weatherproof enclosure.

Now you can activate your pool pump from your kitchen. Switch on your spa from inside the house so the water is perfectly heated when you arrive. Use the switch with the Mini Timer, X10 remote control or home automation interface to save on electric bills by having your air conditioner or heater automatically turn off when you leave the house, then switch on before you get home. And with the Telephone Transponder, you can even turn on/off these devices or any heavy-duty appliance with a phone call.

Please note that this unit is designed for use in North America in single-family homes with split-single phase (two lines of 120 volts) electrical service. It will not function on single-phase 240 volts commonly found outside of North America. It will also not work with 3-phase 120 volts commonly found in commercial, industrial, and some apartments or condominiums.

I use this switch and an x-10 timer to control my swimming pool pump, and it generally works very well, but this is my third switch in a little over 4 years - they just seem to wear out before they reach their second birthday...
