This Indoor Electronic Programmable Plug-In Timer with Front LCD is an excellent choice for regulating your interior lights and other electronics into an automated on/off cycle by setting up to 20 programs from one to seven days a week. Programs can be set as an on/off timed function, countdown function and three modes of random functions. It also functions as a clock with an optional daylight savings feature. With batteries installed, you can move the timer from place to place without losing the programming memory. Use it for a few indoor lights to keep you from coming home to a dark house or to give your home that lived in appearance by using the random function to help deter criminals while you are away. A manual on/off button is a convenient option if you wish to override your current timer status. An LED light even indicates when the timer is on. By limiting the amount of time your lights are on you can significantly reduce the amount of energy being used and eliminate the cost for that energy. It is a great low cost way to automate your lighting up to 1800W (or 15A) and control the amount of power they are using.

    Simple Programming
    Sometimes trying to program electronic devices is difficult and counterintuitive but you will have this indoor timer programmed in no time. The included instructions lead you through the initial programming in an easy to follow, step-by-step process. With this timer you can program your lights on a 7-day cycle, Monday to Friday, Monday to Saturday, during the Weekend or everyday.

    Random On/Off
    Give yourself added safety and security knowing that your home will have that lived in appearance while you are gone. With the random function on "short" your lights will turn on and off between one to two hours, on "long" for two to four hours, or you can program your own random times in a specific one to two hour range.

    I purchased two of these. They both work very well. One of them required reset from onset. A ball point pen will not penetrate deep enough to reset the unit. Had to use a paperclip. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the instructions being a bit vague. The battery backup is a very nice feature. Very happy with my purchase.

    This is a correction to a previous review: The product is excellent and will not lose memory if there is a power outage. The instructions are an abomination! I fault SMARTHOME for not reviewing them and making much needed corrections.These instructions are not easy to follow and are time consuming and frustrating. Earlier on I said to program off and on you must set program 1 to on and program 2 to off; that is not correct however,it might work I think this is the correct way to set the on/off cycle: After you set the time and go to program 1 you then set the ON program. When you press program, you get the second half of program 1 and then you program your OFF time

    Good Unit; Instructions terrible. The key to programming on and off is in program settings. the first thing to do is set the current time Then you must set up two programs. Program 1 is set to turn on the appliance and then you go to program 2 to turn off the appliance. 1. Set time 2. set startime on program 1 3. Set off time on program 2 If anybody else can add info on these instructions, it would be very helpful!

    This is a very reliable and easy to use multifunction timer. I researched many different timer models. This one beats all the others in the price range. I looks good too. It could use a back light on the display; my only criticism.

    This is a great product. I got it primarily for the countdown feature, which works excellent. There are many programming options, and the unit is fairly user-friendly. I use the timer in a dark closet for charging a hand vacuum, and the countdown feature insures it doesn't get overcharged. I would have rated it 5 stars if the screen was backlit. That is the only downfall of this timer.

    Tedious to program. Moreover, no easy way to review the program without observing actual results. This appears to me a common complaint yet UPM has not paid attention. Not good attitude towards customers.

    Has many features... My main purpose in purchasing the timer is to use it an automatic shut off. The countdown timer is simple to use. The sheet of directions takes some studying, but it is possible to figure them out with some work.

    This unit performs exactly as expected. It represents great value. The instruction manual that came with it is very sketchy on how to program it. I located the manual for another model on-line and that manual filled in the pieces. It is intuitive once you understand the pattern. Fast and accurate delivery too!!

    This one set right away, and is working fine. Thank you for sending a replacement. It works fine. Programming was good, ease of use (for the coffee pot) was easy. Overall value was good. I needed a high wattage timer for a coffee pot at my church to heat the water ahead of time. It performs well.

    I'm pretty much pleased with the UPM programable timer. Easy to program once you practice using it a couple of times. I feel it's much easier to program than the Intermatic DT620 digital timer which I also have. Had it for quite awhile now with no problems. Good timer.

    I purchased 4 of these because of the narrow profile and the LCD is visible from the front. 20 program slots provide a lot of flexibility. I use them to control lights for a reef aquarium. The digital clock appears to keep decent time, but it's still too early to tell how they perform. They don't appear to automatically time out of programming mode and I had one "hang up" and stop working until I manually set it to its normal operating state.
