Like all X10 products they don't compare to Insteon for reliability. It works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't get the signal. It might work 1 day and not the next. Smarthome needs to make a product like this, but with the reliability of the Insteon products.

As always, excellent service, good merchandise. The new chime modules do not have as pleasant a chime as the old (20 years ago) chime. Cheaper, but, they work as advertised.

The sound of this "chime" is almost inaudible. It'm more of a "plink" sound. The same is true of all the recent X-10 Chime modules I've purchased in the last two years. In the past, these chimes made a bigger sound. Now, they are useless.

This chime is way to quiet to be of much use. I'm using a few of these scattered throughout the house to help me hear the doorbell when it rings and they would be much more useful if their volume was adjustable and if its maximum volume was a whole lot louder.

This device was a donated item from Independent Living Center to a 9 year old girl with MD. She is now able to open the front door, signal her parents, and turn her light on independently.
