Essential Info

Expanding your X10 system to include wired-in lights is a snap with these easy-to-use X10 light switches. Simply connect two wires and you’re all set. You’ll be able to control lights directly from the switch as well as remotely. The wall switch will respond to the ALL LIGHTS ON/ALL UNITS OFF command, and you can dim the light from any X10 transmitter with DIM/BRIGHT control. Wall plates sold separately. The X10 wall switch can only be used with incandescent lights. All X10 compatible 2-wire dimmer switches and modules rely on the conduction path through the incandescent bulb filament and will not work properly with other loads.

    I've used the older, on-off style, of this switch, and I find the "new and improved" soft-on/soft-off and brightness control feature of this newer switch to be a nuisance!

    Does what it says. The only problem I've run into is that there is no way to determine if the light is on or off by the switch. It confuses other family members at times who are used to ON/OFF switches.

    I really DO NOT like the "soft start" feature of this new model of switches, mainly because it doesn't function well with the X10 motion detector. All I wanted was a switch that turns the light(s) on and off. Does X10 still offer switches without the "soft start"? I had to solve my problem by using an older model switch from another part of the house.

    I have been using these switches for over 15 years and find they do not last more than 5-7 years. I had one defective right out of the box. If I did not need them for a system that runs my outdoor lights, I would switch to a better quality product. Price is not bad though.

    Turns on and off slow but doe's not turn on to bright every time,it will come on very dim and you have to mess with it to get it bright.Neat though when the whole house slowly dims off.

    Replacement switches (after lightening damaged the originals) came very fast. Installation went smoothly, and the switches work better than the old ones.
