    Brings Lamp Modules into the 21st Century
    The LampLinc Essential does everything traditional lamp modules do, but without the unattractive, boxy look and technology that pre-dates the first personal computers. The clean, smooth lines of this remote lamp dimmer easily blend into the wall while the modern electronics inside carefully listen to the powerline for the faintest of signals. The LampLinc Essential couldn't get any easier to install; simply plug it into your outlet.

    Compatible with Virtually All Controllers and Computer Interfaces
    LampLinc Essential operates and responds to all the standard X10 signals including On, Off, All Lights On, All Units Off, as well as Bright and Dim. This makes it fully compatible with all home automation programs like ActiveHome, HouseLinc™ and the original home automation computer interface, the CP-290. LampLinc Essential works with all these programs by coming on at full brightness (unless Resume Dim mode is enabled).

    Durable Construction
    Unlike traditional lamp modules, which use old-fashioned address wheels that are difficult to adjust and sometimes fail, LampLinc Essential's X10 address is set electronically with any standard X10 transmitter. Just send the address three times in a row within 30 seconds of being plugged in. After the third address is received, the lamp that's plugged into it will turn on to indicate it has successfully learned the signal. And don't worry about LampLinc Essential forgetting its address during a power failure; EEPROM memory will retain the address you programmed.

    32 Dim Levels
    In many instances the light output between steps is difficult to distinguish. But the LampLinc Essential includes 32 levels of dimming, twice that of traditional lamp modules. This feature is ideal if you want to use a computer controller to simulate a sunrise in the morning, or having the lamp fade off over any period of time you specify with the controller.

    Resume Dimming or Full Brightness... You Decide
    The Resume Dim feature will turn the lamp back on at the dim level it was set to when it was last turned off. Alternately, the LampLinc can also be set to turn on at full brightness each time it's turned on.

    How is LampLinc Essential Different from the Original LampLinc?
    The LampLinc Essential is built upon the same platform and contains the nearly the same electronics found in the original LampLinc. The maximum wattage for the LampLinc Essential is 300 watts, as compared to 400 watts in the original LampLinc series. LampLinc Essential also lacks the pass-through outlet, Status LED, and Set button for programming the address. See the comparison chart below for more details.

    Works exactly as advertized. I have a half dozen of these and all work very well. One thing I've learned over the years, if you have a home with more than 2,000 sq ft, you probably need a FilterLink on every computer you own and on at least 80% of the AC adapters. Adding them to refrigerators is probably a good idea as well. After a lot of frustration with inconsistant operation, I went to the cost of doing this, along with a couple of BoosterLinks and now all of my X-10/Insteon devices work flawlessly.

    There seems to be a good 5-10 second delay on when these units turn on or off after the signal is sent to them. Stick with Insteon and save yourself some trouble.

    Order was find but we a are very disappointed to learn the X-10 mds'e has been discontinued. We have dozens of clients with this product and am now concerned with replacements when these go bad (as sosme have done).

    They Work nicely with X10... Needs Features: 1. Way to turn off lamp w/o X10 - maybe turn lamp off for 5 seconds then back on and it stays off ready for a X10 command.

    Setting the address with an "on command" works very well, eliminating the small dials on present X10 modules. Especially appreciated was the "resume dim" feature with which I had no problems. The unit is so much more sensitive to "line noise" than my existing X10 modules, that the lamps turn on frequently at times other than the "on" set times. I have replaced X10 modules which were controlling a lamp effectively with a LampLinc module, only to find that the lamp turns on two or three unprogramed times during an average day. This very much limits the usefulness of the LampLinc x-10 module. Folloowing advice from customer service, I have changed the LampLinc address four times, with no change in the unprogramed events.
