The Ambient Orb is a beautiful, frosted glass light that slowly transitions between thousands of different colors to show changes in the weather, the health of your stock portfolio, or many other conditions. If you set the Ambient Orb to monitor your stock portfolio, it will glow in shades ranging from bright green (when stock are doing well) to yellow (things are calm) to bright red (call your broker). In short, the device provides a pleasant, constant, highly summarized view of investment performance, without having to constantly log onto your computer investment portfolio.
No Subscription Fee for Basic Weather or Dow Jones Tracking
The Ambient Orb arrives ready to track the Dow Jones Industrial Average, glowing more green or red to indicate market movement up or down, or yellow when the market is calm. Data is updated continuously, at least every 15 minutes. It can be customized to a set of free channels, such as market indices or weather in major cities. Optionally, you can upgrade to access more premium channels, such as your customized portfolio, your company's stock price, ski conditions, e-mail activity, traffic congestion, pollen levels and more. Just log onto the Ambient Orb website and choose a channel that suits you. Premium subscriptions cost about $6.95 a month, or $19.95 a quarter (which works out to $1.50 a week for each Orb).
Uses a Fraction of the Power of a Conventional Lightbulb
The Ambient Orb plugs into any standard AC outlet and is very energy efficient. It uses ultra-bright, ultra-long life LEDs that glow in thousands of colors, stay cool and consume 1/10th the power of a conventional light bulb. It measures 3.75" high, 4.5" wide and weighs 12 oz.
