Essential Info
This kit is the ideal solution to monitor indoor and outdoor temperature at your home or office as well as weather conditions for your city and four other locations. The main unit is a wireless display module from which you can view indoor temperature via a built-in sensor, outdoor temperature via the included wireless outdoor temperature sensor, and weather forecast information, time, date and other custom data from the Internet via the included wireless gateway (a broadband service and modem is required). The wireless display can receive a signal from the wireless temperature sensor and the wireless gateway from up to 330 feet away. The wireless display gets linked to the internet through the wireless gateway via a simple registration process on www.weatherdirect.com. Once setup, you will receive accurate weather forecast information from up to 60,000 locations in the United States and Canada including your hometown, parks, sports venues, golf courses and more. Weather data for up to five locations can be viewed on the wireless display by the selected location with morning, afternoon, evening and night forecast information for up to four days. You can even choose to be alerted via e-mail or SMS text message depending on which types of severe weather events you select. The wireless display is powered by two "C" batteries and the wireless outdoor temperature sensor is powered by two "AA" batteries, each sold separately.  Important Note: You will be able to receive weather data information for one location at no charge via www.weatherdirect.com. There is a 14 day free trial included that will allow you to receive weather data information for four additional locations; beyond fourteen days will require a subscription.

What's Needed to get Started
A high-speed Internet connection, either cable, DSL or other broadband Internet service, along with a router or broadband modem with built-in router, are required to take advantage of the Weather Direct® features on this system - a dial-up connection will not work. A reasonably current Windows, Macintosh, or Linux PC with internet browser installed is required for initial set up and configuration changes. The browser must be configured with Java Script enabled. Most browsers allow JavaScript as a standard feature. If you have turned off support for JavaScript in your browser, please allow JavaScript to run again to register or configure your Device. A valid e-mail address is required to make sure you can retrieve your password and receive other information about your user profile. Two "AA" alkaline batteries for the Wireless Outdoor Sensor and two "C" alkaline batteries for the Wireless Display Please note: rechargeable batteries are not recommended due to the wide variation in performance between brands and types. Please use only fresh Alkaline batteries.
