Each channel can be assigned one of two possible functions: 1) As a contact closure that responds to X10 signals; or 2) As an input for an optional Smarthome Design sensor probe that monitors any device's status and sends an X10 command out based on that status. Each channel can be assigned to any X10 address and can be mixed and matched as needed. Unlike the Powerflash or Universal Modules, you can query any channel to verify its status by using X10 status request commands.
