Essential Info
Want to save power, without the risk of stumbling into furniture when you come home? Let your home automation controller turn on the lights only when you need them with the help of this elegant, Decora-style Temperature and Light Sensor! Mount this clean-looking sensor in any room to send ambient temperature and light readings to any home control interface with analog inputs, like the Stargate, TimeCommander Plus, HomeVision and LynX-10 systems. Create ideal lighting and temperature macros, increasing your comfort while conserving energy! Regulated power supply voltage between +5-30VDC required.

For example, if the sensor detects a temperature above a pre-determined level, you can program the controller to close the motorized drapes, turn a ceiling fan on, or, if necessary, crank-up the air. If your home is equipped with electronic duct dampers and motion sensors, you can even direct the air conditioner to only cool the rooms that are occupied. The built-in light sensor allows you to control indoor lamps based on the amount of light in the room. You can also mount the sensor outdoors in a weatherproof box to control your landscape lighting! These sensors will not only make your home more energy efficient, they'll also save you money on your monthly electric bill!
Operation is simple. Just connect a regulated power supply voltage between +5-30VDC to the screw-down terminals in the rear. Once powered, the unit produces a linearly scaled analog signal proportional to the temperature it detects. That signal can be sent across more than 1,000 feet of cable to the analog input of a compatible controller. For optimum results, use 4-conductor, shielded cable, home run between each sensor and the controller. Two conductors each will be used for the light and temperature detectors. The shield will be a common ground for both circuits.
