If you use HALbasic, HALdeluxe, or HAL2000 software to control your home's automation devices using your voice, you can expand your remote control capabilities to include your surveillance cameras ( cameras are sold separately). The HAL Digital Video Center is a flexible, user-friendly interface that adds voice-controlled remote options to every surveillance camera in your home. This software also captures video from your cameras onto your computer and allows you to add video functions to any of your tasks and macros. You can even schedule when you want to record from certain cameras. Smarthome does not accept returns on any opened software.

Control Camera View and Recording Using Your VoiceThe HAL Digital Video Center integrates many video features to your home automation system. To change from one camera to another, just use your voice and whatever custom voice command you want: Say, "Switch to the backyard camera," and HAL will switch the camera view. You can start and stop recording from a camera using voice commands, as well. You can even make the camera view switch based on time or start and stop recording at scheduled times.
Expanded Surveillance Options Through SoftwareThe HAL Digital Video Center captures video from many sources, including IP cameras, USB cameras, CCTV cameras, TV tuners and more. No need for a DVR, your host computer will be able to store all of your recorded video and camera events. HAL can even e-mail your video snapshots to you for additional convenience. View events going on at your home from anywhere, be notified when there is movement by the pool when you're not home or look in on the nursery at night. When used with the HAL HomeNet, you can even view these images from the palm of your hand or any IE browser.
Additional Software FeaturesUse motion sensors to have cameras start recording based on a motion event. If you don't have motion sensors connected to your cameras, HAL can detect motion using the camera itself. When there is movement in the camera's view you can have HAL start recording. You can also program HAL to announce when someone comes to the front door or turn your porch light on so your guests can see their way.
