Using the free CDJ software (downloadable from the link in the right) on your PC, the Slink-e Infrared Equipment Controller takes control of your CD collection, automatically identifying and cataloging the title, artists and tracks of your CDs for downloading to your Sony multi-disc changers. No more typing in song titles and album names for your entire collection!
It can also communicate with any device that uses an IR remote control! This versatile controller opens the door to PC control of TVs, VCRs, CD players and receivers, Sony S-Link (Control-A1II and Control-S) equipment, and whole-house control of infrared A/V devices. Integrating Slink-e functionality into your own programs or popular home automation software packages can be achieved with an easy-to-use ActiveX control, letting you control your music, IR, S-Link, and X10 with a single control.
You can even use your IR remotes to send commands to programs that you write on your computer! The Slink-e stores IR codes in the PC, not in the box, so there’s no limit to the number of devices you can control or the number of IR codes it can learn.
This expandable unit can also be used with as many as 8 independent infrared receivers and transmitters, enabling the Slink-e to automatically route IR signals from room to room. Use this feature to control any IR-controlled equipment from any room in the house!

These player models support 16 characters of artist, disc title, and track titles. CDJ downloads this information using "IR over S-Link keypress emulation".
