By connecting your M1 or M1 Gold security and automation panel to your computer, you can extend the amount of control you have over your system. However, since most modern laptops and many desktop computers are equipped only with USB serial ports, in order to connect your M1 to your computer, you'll need the M1 USB to RS232 Converter.

The M1 USB to RS232 Converter allows for data transfer from a USB port to a serial port whenever the computer does not have a conventional RS-232 9-pin serial port. You'll appreciate the quick 1 Mbps data transfer rate, and this converter supports remote wake-up and power management.
The M1 USB to RS232 Converter supports Windows 98/2000/XP and Mac v8.6 or higher, and it is also suitable for a PDA and modem.
