Control your automation components and your security system using your computer or over the Internet by interfacing your M1EZ8 automation/security panel (sold separately) with your computer's serial port. The Main Serial Interface Port for M1EZ8 adds a high-speed RS-232 serial port to the M1EZ8, allowing computers and other serial devices to communicate with the M1EZ8 control.

With software-selectable speed from 300 to 115,200 baud, the Main Serial Interface Port for M1EZ8 has modular connectors for long-term reliability. Additional features include a powerline lighting pass-through connector for PSC-05 (or equivalent) interface
By connecting the M1EZ8 to your computer, you'll be able to control and check in remotely, transmitting and receiving custom serial ASCII messages remotely via dial-up or Ethernet connection. Read temperature sensors and communicate with every connected thermostat in the house over the Internet, and control your lighting and other automation using computer commands: You'll be able to turn on tasks, lights and other connected automation devices, even setting lights to turn on automatically at sunset.
