TO BE NOTED: This product requires CA5500 remote control IN ORDER to be programmed. You cannot program this merely due to you having another controller vizia, harmony, etc. will work but a CA5500 is required. I believe that the information above should be noted in the product information on this site along with others. Other than that, the product worked flawlessly for me. I do not understand why other people are having difficulty programming, I felt the process was pretty simple. You press a single button on the remote to learn and press which switch you want to learn. Do this for all devices and move on to the next. To program the 6 button scene controller you simple press and hold a scene for 10 seconds and adjust all lights, etc. accordingly. Press the button again and the 6 scene programs itself. I have this mounted at my exit door and LOVE IT. The controller lights up each scene with a brighter light to show which scene is on. Upon exit I can see if any lights are on, or do a complete lights off button. 6 scenes was enough to run my house so I am not linking any together and keep the remote and 6 scene the exact same. I also have a Harmony 890 controller with the same scenes setup to make life really simple. I love the setup and highly recommend.

Awful, painful, frustratingly difficult to set up and operate. Will only accept programming from the equally frustrating Intermatic 5500 controller, which has the worst user interface imaginable. I'd skip making this part of your system, it is simply too difficult to set up and too awkward to use.
