The Black & Decker Freewire™ Indoor/Outdoor Starter Kit contains everything you'll need to get started on an affordable, expandable, wireless automation system, which is so easy to use, it sets up in only a few minutes. Once programmed, you'll be able to turn on four indoor or outdoor incandescent lights with a push of a button, even if you're on the other side of the house! No rewiring is necessary: If you can plug in a lamp, you can use the Freewire system, which will even work seamlessly with your existing X10 components.

Smarthome recently obtained a huge quantity of these Freewire systems and is offering them to our customers for a blowout price! This starter kit includes a messenger hub and an indoor remote as well as a lamp module and two outdoor receivers. The messenger hub is the brain of your expandable Freewire system that doubles as a lamp module, so you'll actually be able to control four separate incandescent lamps with this starter system.
When plugged into an AC outlet, the messenger hub has the ability to receive RF signals from the indoor remote and relays these wireless messages to any Freewire receiver dialed to the same house code, even outdoor receivers. You can also add modules to operate additional indoor lights, outdoor lights, and small appliances and electronics; other than those included in this kit, additional modules are sold separately.
Control lighting and small electronics throughout your home all from the palm of your hand using the included indoor remote, which even comes with a mountable holder. The indoor remote works with all Freewire components. This remote will turn three units and two groups on and off; it will also turn all Freewire-enabled lights and appliances on and off at once. Freewire's 256 channels and 64,000 unique codes ensure a secure system for your home.
The indoor lamp receiver provides convenient control of incandescent lamps rated up to 300 watts. Programming these units is easy. Just set your house and unit codes using the clearly marked wheels. Remember that the house code must match on all Freewire units in your home.
Use the two outdoor lamp receivers to control indoor or outdoor incandescent, fluorescent, halogen and low-voltage lights rated up to 500 watts. The outdoor lamp receiver does not have a code wheel, but it's still easy to program using the messenger hub. You can even use it with an extension cord. Ideal for controlling low-voltage landscape and holiday lighting, the outdoor lamp receivers are weather-resistant for outdoor use.
Do you already use X10 components for your home's automation? The Freewire system will blend in seamlessly. All Freewire plug-in modules (indoor and outdoor lamp receivers as well as the messenger hub's built-in lamp module) can be controlled by standard X10 controllers. The indoor lamp receiver will even accept dimming commands transmitted by a standard X10 controller.
The HomeLink Wireless Control System is a factory-installed feature packaged on many vehicle models, providing a convenient way to replace up to three handheld radio-frequency transmitters used to activate devices such as gate operators, garage door openers, entry door locks, security systems and home lighting. Freewire products are compatible with select 2001 and newer HomeLink-equipped vehicles. Programming instructions for HomeLink are included in the instruction guide for this Freewire product.
Also available is the Black & Decker Freewire Keyfob & Receiver Kit, which contains just a keyfob remote and the messenger hub, or you can try the Black & Decker Freewire Remote, Lamp Module, Receiver, which also contains a second lamp module for another controllable lamp. Both of these kits are sold separately.
