If you want to develop software for X10 control and don’t want to be bothered with the intricacies of the hardware, get this unit. The solid state circuitry neatly packed into the RS232 serial port connector converts the complex timing critical code required to communicate with the X10 TW523 module into buffered ASCII code. The unit is powered from the serial port, no external power supply is required. Codes are sent and received in the following form: B08, BON, BDI, etc. which correspond to house and unit code B 8, on and dim, respectively. You can use the terminal program in Windows to send and read these commands, use the supplied control panel program or write your own. A sample visual basic program is included to help you get started. RJ11 connecting cable included.
A TW523 module (not included) is required.
