Essential Info
You'll never have to get off the sofa to make room adjustments again with this home automation kit that gives you the power to control home theater equipment, lights and other electronic devices with one remote control! Just hook up these plug-and-play items, and in just seconds, you'll have complete on-command or pre-programmed control of nearly any electronic device in your home!
This system allows you to create timed schedules for your lights and appliances perfect if you want to wake up to music and soft gentle lights, or if you want to make your house look lived in while you're gone. You can even control devices directly from your PC just by clicking on them.
About 100 programmed events and macros can be downloaded to the memory on the Activehome unit for stand-alone operation (with the PC turned off).
The Activehome Kit features a 6-in-1 IR Remote Control that can control most commonly available audio/video components, as well as X10 via RF (using X10 RF Receiver Base). A separate X10 RF Keychain Remote and an X10 Lamp Module is also included.
#1142 Activehome Kit includes: 1 - 1140 Activehome (CM11A) PC Interface 1 - 4006 6-in-1 Remote Control (Not sold separately) 1 - 4005X 16-Device RF Base 1 - 2000 Lamp Module 1 - 4004 Keychain Remote, 6 "AAA" Batteries
Expanding is easy! When you're ready to control more functions, simply add any X10 lamp or appliance module.
The Activehome module plugs into the serial port of any PC running Windows 3.1/95/98/ME/2000 (and Windows XP with the downloadable driver from this page). The socket on the front of the unit is an unswitched pass-through power outlet for the power cord of the PC. CD-ROM drive required.
Also available is the #1140 the Activehome interface alone without accessories.
Note: The radio signals sent by the remote control will not directly control a UHF satellite dish receiver or other audio-video gear which only receives RF signals. The RF portion of the remote control is only for controlling Home Automation Products.
