You can use the Kill-A-Watt Wireless Energy Consumption Monitor to track your power usage and carbon footprint on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis. This system comes with a portable wireless receiver that receives information from the sensor. Simply plug the wireless sensor into an outlet and then plug an appliance you wish to check into the sensor. The sensor will then transmit data to the central LCD display (wireless receiver) where you can see your cumulative electrical expenses and your carbon footprint. By monitoring the power consumption of your household electronics, you will be able to easily see how they contribute to your carbon footprint. This system has a wireless range of 300 feet and can be used with up to eight sensors. The system has built-in software that will also give you an analysis of the kilowatt hour data and combine it with the type of electricity that is generated in your area for a more precise reading.
