Good stuff and a good value

The EM100 energy meter arrived in a open package and did not work. After looking it over I discovered there was a high resistance connection at the battery terminals. I repaired this by lightly sanding the battery contacts. I should not have to do that. Would have been 5 stars if it had arrived functional.

The device does what I need it to do but it would be better if it included an elapsed time clock. The clock function only tallies "device on time" which I don't find very helpful by itself. I can still get what I need by recording the date/time I start recording and then again when I stop the test. All-in-all it gets the job done for a reasonable price. I'm satisfied.

Does the job. I now know how much any device of my choosing costs. I have to get real close to read it. One of them has to be returned - the socket for the ground of the appliance wire broke the first time I used it.

The service that I received from Smarthome customer service was excellent, I explained to them why the meter was not working and immediately I got the RMA number and label to ship it back. The replacement meter works great. My only complaint is that I could have walked to pick up the device and probably would have gotten it faster that the "turtle" that Smarthome used to ship my replacement. The first meter I got within 3 days of ordering, but the replacement took 14 days after they got the return meter (which took 4 days for them to get) so in total from the day I sent the defective one until the day I got the replacement was 18 days totally unacceptable.
