Essential Info
If you have a Omni LT, Omni II or OmniPro II controlling your home's automation, you can connect your controller to your PC using the RS-232 Interface Board. This serial interface allows the controller to be connected to a personal computer or other system to exchange data and commands. Controllers and cables are sold separately.

The RS-232 Interface Board can be used to increase the number of serial ports on the Omni LT and Omni II from one to two, and on the OmniPro II from three to four. Like the built-in ports, the RS-232 Interface Board allows Omni family controllers to be connected to personal computers and other serial devices, using an RS-232 or RS-485 connection.
The controller can be accessed continuously and in real time though the interface without affecting the operation of the controller, regardless of which of HAI's protocols is used, Omni-Link or Pro-Link. The RS-232 Interface Board requires no external power; the board is powered by the controller.
Minimum Computer Requirements:
200MHz Pentium processor or equivalent (450MHz for video streaming feature, 700MHz recommended)
Microsoft® Windows® 98 SE, NT 4, 2000 or XP Professional (Microsoft® Windows® ME or XP Home Edition are not supported)
32MB RAM (128MB RAM for video streaming feature, 256MB recommended)
50MB hard drive space
CD-ROM drive
USB Port (required for video streaming feature)
