If you add HAI's
Omnistat Communicating Thermostats
, you'll be able to control your home's temperatures through your Omni IIe system. A freeze alarm feature will cause a dial out if the temperature falls below a preset level. Choose from a number of temperature sensors and other
accessories
to expand your system, including a variety of wireless options. These accessories include additional interface options, such as an
OmniTouch touchscreen
or
OmniTouch with Video touchscreen
(connect up to 8). Omni IIe features three built-in serial ports and an Ethernet port for connection to additional control devices. Control your system remotely:
Snap-Link
software comes with a USB thumb drive that you can insert into any Internet-connected computer to monitor or control your HAI system remotely.
The following are just a few of the Omni IIe's wide range of automation and security features:
AUTOMATION FEATURES

Experience Maximum Security
Choose from a variety of modes for proper arming of your security system. Select DAY when the house will be occupied, and interior motion detectors will remain disarmed. Similarly, sensors will be disabled in NIGHT mode, but the alarm system sounder will be activated if any door, window or non-sleeping area sensor is tripped. If you're expecting a family member to come home later, select NIGHT DELAY, which functions the same as the NIGHT mode but features an entry delay to allow time to disarm the system. Finally, select AWAY when you leave the house empty to arm all entries and motion sensors.
If the alarm is activated, a siren will blare, the display module will show the type of alarm and location of the breach, and the system will seize the phone line to dial out. In addition, any programmed macros can activate connected devices.
The HAI Omni IIe Controller can dial up to 8 different phone numbers. If the number dialed is busy or isn't answered, the dialer will hang up and go to the next number in your programmed order. After it has dialed the last number in the dial order, the Omni IIe stops dialing and reconnects the in-house phones.
Emergency alarm conditions can also be activated through the console. The Event Log records the 250 most recent security system events and trouble conditions in the system.
Assign different levels of access to your employees or family members so that certain people can program the system, while others simply use it to enter and exit. If you are forced to disarm the system against your will by an intruder, disarm it using the Duress Code instead of your normal code. The system will disarm, and no sirens will sound, but the Omni IIe will perform a silent dial out to announce this silent alarm.
Control Automated Lighting and Appliances
Control almost any light or appliance with the Omni IIe. You can also control your heating and air conditioning (HVAC) with the system, which will allow you to save energy dollars by setting the temperature appropriately when you are home, asleep, or away. The Omni IIe can even be used to program lights to make your home or business look occupied as a deterrent to thieves.
Unlike some systems, which are limited to controlling X10 devices, the Omni IIe can send
X10
,
UPB
, CentraLite, ALC and RadioRA signals to control almost any device in your home. Different lighting devices can coexist on an Omni Iie system as long as they are on separate House Codes. These automation receivers are sold separately. Using a Powerline Interface Module, Omni IIe sends commands over your existing electrical wiring to UPB- or X10-enabled switches, modules, and keypad controllers. All UPB switches and some X10 switches and modules are two-way devices, so Omni IIe knows the actual status of the switch when it is controlled locally.
An Omni IIe will control:
64 UPB switches, modules, and keypads (up to 8 rooms of HLC Lighting)
64 X10 compatible modules (four house codes)
64 CentraLite loads and relays
64 RadioRA switches and dimmers
62 ALC switch modules
4 HAI Communicating Thermostats
8 PESMs or Voltage Outputs
You can stores names for each device so you won't need to remember which is which.
Set up and execute up to 64 X10 scenes and 250 UPB links. A powerful feature of the Omni IIe is the ability to program macros, which execute a series of commands when triggered. Personalize up to 64 macros with descriptive names. You can also create up to 17 "phantom buttons," which are pre-programmed into the RS-232 interface or Chronos. These buttons will turn connected devices to preset light levels and include an ALL ON and ALL OFF feature. Use timed commands to turn units on or off for a specified period of time. Lighting units may also be dimmed or brightened to specific levels for a specified period of time.
Control This System With a Telephone Interface
The Omni IIe is equipped with a built-in telephone response feature that allows you to control and access the status of your system from any touchtone phone in your home. The Omni IIe actually talks to you using a digital recording of an actual human voice, and you can send commands to the Omni IIe using the keys of your Touch-Tone telephone. You may also call your system from any remote touchtone phone and enter your code to "talk" to your Omni IIe. Control connected automated devices, arm and disarm the system, or change its mode. You can even hear and adjust temperature settings. On an in-house phone only, you can activate the Police Emergency keys by picking up the phone and pressing the # key 6 times.
You can also communicate with the Omni IIe through a local or remote PC. The Omni IIe has a built-in modem and can be accessed via phone or over a direct serial connection.
You'll enjoy maximum reliability with the Omni IIe system. From its fuseless design, short circuit-proof power supply and outputs to a programmable delay to preclude false alarms from user error, this security and home automation system will provide peace of mind. All inputs and outputs are protected against static, RFI, surges, and lightning by use of impedance limits, spark gaps, TRANZORB surge arrestors, RC filters, MOVs, bypass capacitors and grounded shields. Encryption and decryption of data between the Omni IIe controller and a connected device is based on the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) using a 128-bit cryptographic key. Additional reliability features include a watchdog timer, non-volatile EEPROM storage for programs, self-diagnostic software, low-voltage cut out, and a self-protecting power supply for system integrity.
If there is an area or a separate building that needs to be protected, your installer can divide your Omni IIe system into two independent security systems. Each area has complete access to all of the capabilities of the Omni IIe, yet the Omni IIe can protect each area individually.
