Essential Info
Replace an existing light switch in your home with the HAI UPB™ 1500-Watt Dimmer, and you'll not only be able to dim the light (or group of lights) and insert it into scenes, but you'll be able to control the light remotely from another room in your home. This UPB dimmer uses your home's existing wires and can control and dim lighting loads up to 1500 watts. A wall plate is sold separately.
Note: Smarthome and HAI do not offer a wall plate that fits these switches.

UPB ReliabilityThe HAI UPB 1500-Watt Dimmer uses Universal Powerline Bus technology for superior performance and reliability. Ideal for new or retrofit installations, no rewiring is necessary in order to use this switch; UPB switches require a connection to a neutral wire. UPB benefits include its higher reliability, since its signal strength is stronger than X10, with increased electrical noise resistance. UPB products are NOT X10 compatible.
Use Switch By Itself Or With a Separate ControllerThis HAI 1500 Watt UPB Dimmer Switch works as a stand-alone dimmer or may be used with UPB room controllers, house controllers, or automation controllers. The HAI UPB 1500-Watt Dimmer is capable of storing up to 16 preset light levels to create powerful lighting scenes.
Configure Setup and Scenes Using PC SoftwareIf you want to include fluorescent or other non-dimmable lights in scenes, you can change the function of this dimming switch to be non-dimming or vice-versa using the HAI UPB UPStart configuration software, which also allows you to change the colors on the switch's LED and the rate that it brightens to fully on or dims to fully off. In order to use these features, you'll need to install the free software on your PC and connect your PC to your power line using a UPB powerline interface module and a cable
Additional Colors AvailableThe HAI UPB 1500-Watt Dimmer is also available in ivory. If you'll be using UPB commands to control groups of lights with smaller or greater loads, use the HAI UPB 1000-Watt Dimmer or HAI UPB 2400-Watt Dimmer, respectively.
Note on De-RatingWhen this switch is mounted in a normal depth wall box, it must be de-rated from 1500W down to 1200W. For a proper fit in a multiple-gang installation, it may be necessary to remove one or both of the break-off tabs on the sides of the 1500W switch. When tabs are removed, the overall rating of the device must be reduced. Please see the instruction manual for details.
