Control every light in the room from a single location. The HAI UPB™ House Controller allows for lighting control of a room where UPB Wall Switches (sold separately) have been installed. This eight-button room controller sends signals to each UPB wall switch over the Universal Powerline Bus protocol, an advanced communication technology that uses your existing power wires, so no rewiring is necessary in order to use this controller. The UPB House Controller mounts in a standard wall electrical box, and it uses a standard Decora-style wall plate (sold separately). Please note: UPB products are NOT X10 compatible

The HAI UPB House Controller has eight pushbuttons, which are used to control lighting scenes. Each pushbutton is slightly backlit so that the buttons can be seen in a dark room, and each can be configured to custom fit your lifestyle. The UPB House Controller is capable of storing preset light levels and fade rates to create lighting scenes. If you have UPB Wall Switch Dimmers installed, you can press and hold the linked button to brighten or dim the linked light.
Setting a scene, such as reading, watch TV, or dining, is easy and does not require any programming or software. The scenes buttons use a feature of UPB called "links" that enables switches and room controllers to memorize scenes without a central controller. With the free, downloadable UpStart software and a UPB Interface Module (sold separately), you can also use your computer to configure and/or control UPB devices.
UPB benefits include its higher reliability, since its signal strength is stronger than X10, with increased electrical noise resistance. UPB technology allows enough individually addressable devices to control even large residential environments, usually without the need for phase coupling and without affecting or being affected by adjacent home environments. Please note that the UPB Wall Switch does require the use of the white neutral wire, where most standard switches have no connection for the neutral.
A six-button UPB Room Controller is also available and sold separately.
